Rental Equipment Maintenance/Utility – Lanai

 

Under the direction of the Maui Rental Branch Manager, this position is responsible for performing maintenance checks and minor repairs on rental equipment before and after rental use on Lanai.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
  • Perform minor repairs of rental equipment including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, plumbing and tagging of equipment for rental ready status.
  • Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
  • Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return. Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in working order. Report machine condition to management.
  • Clean all equipment and prepare for rental.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
  • Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
  • Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment, and various pieces of machinery.
  • Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
  • Maintain, clean, and organize yard and work area.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all company owned fleet
  • Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes company rental quality and efficiency standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and trucks independently.
  • Perform basic repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independently.
  • Conducts oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted basic services.
  • Recondition and replace basic assorted parts of the equipment.
  • Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear and tear of the equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, AC systems, varied brands of equipment that the company rents.
  • Must have own basic tools.

 

This role is based on Lanai.
