Bacon Universal Opens New Dedicated Bacon Rentals Facility on Oʻahu

Bacon Universal has opened a new standalone Bacon Rentals facility on Oʻahu, marking a major milestone in the company’s ongoing investment in rental equipment and services across Hawaiʻi. The new branch, which opened in December 2025, is located in Mapunapuna, directly opposite the existing Bacon Universal location on Ahua Street.

Purpose-designed to support rental customers, the new Oʻahu facility features a walk-in rental counter and retail area stocked with essential jobsite supplies, dedicated office and meeting spaces, and a large, covered workshop for equipment repairs and servicing.

The opening of the Honolulu branch also reflects a broader evolution of Bacon Universal’s rental operations, with the company formally separating its rental division into Bacon Rentals, a dedicated brand focused exclusively on rental equipment and related services statewide.

“Opening a standalone Bacon Rentals facility on Oʻahu is a significant step forward for our rental customers,” said Matt Elvin, President & CEO of Bacon Universal. “It allows us to deliver a more focused rental experience while continuing to invest in the facilities and teams needed to support Hawaiʻi’s jobsites.”

Bacon Rentals’ growth has been supported by a series of strategic expansions across the islands. In September 2024, the company opened its first dedicated Bacon Rentals in Wailuku, Maui, adjacent to the Bacon Universal location. This was followed by the relocation of the Bacon Universal Kona branch to a larger, fully renovated facility in Kailua-Kona in June 2025, which includes a dedicated Bacon Rentals operation serving West Hawaiʻi.

In addition to its standalone and co-located branches, Bacon Rentals also maintains dedicated rental teams in Hilo and on Kauaʻi, ensuring customers in those markets have local support, fast response times, and access to the company’s growing rental fleet.

While Bacon Rentals now operates as a distinct brand, it remains closely aligned with Bacon Universal and shares the same commitment to safety, service, and reliability that has defined the company since 1947.

“Bacon Rentals gives us a clear platform to grow our rental business while staying true to our roots in Hawaiʻi,” Matt Elvin added. “This is about building long-term capability and making it easier for our customers to get the equipment and support they need, on every island and for every project."

Bacon Rentals services customers across all islands, providing rental equipment to businesses throughout the state, in construction, infrastructure, industrial, and agriculture applications. Its rental fleet includes aerial lifts, telehandlers, excavators, heavy earthmoving equipment, utility vehicles, power generation, and much more.
